The fire protection technical guideline has been newly published - see 02.12.2025 (valid from 01.02.2026) by FIRE Authority of Hungary.

Among others there is one interesting topic: unauthorized modifications - compliance to design stage. Checking of this is a definite to do for any Ex inspection focusing on Ex hazardous area compliance for both electrical and non.electrical assets.

Compliance to design stage is strongly connected to the product itself, IOM, Ex certificate, maintenance and repair files including valid hazardous area classification (mentioned in the new edition as well) and valid Ex personnel competency for all involved.

As part of Ex inspection these are inputs to be considered, and if not appropriate, so the inspector can reject to continue the inspection.

And inspector is not one from any authority, BUT the inspection sheet issued by the inspector is a very important piece for the overall Ex compliance. So it is.
